IT Application Support – Commodities/Financial Services Firm (AS/400)
The firm is a global commodities firm with business activities in agricultural commodities, and manufactured goods. In addition the firm operates a large financial service firm that manages risks in the commodity markets for the company.
Primary function:
-Provide applications support for the firms production business applications (trading, research, and administration)
-Actively participate in the development/enhancement, review and implementation of business applications for the supported business units
Accountabilities:
Project Involvement:
-Member of a team that works on complex project/s
-Lead execution of small to medium size project/s
-Coordinates with users and other IT groups to determine and analyze requirements.
Business Competency:
-Ability to use advanced knowledge of a single business and several processes to achieve intended results.
• Ability to understand multiple related business functions.
Technical Competency:
-Broad understanding of standard technologies in developing or supporting complex business applications.
-Ability to demonstrate and relate the use of standard and new technologies in supporting the business units.
Environment:
External factors (competition/government controls/market conditions/locations, etc)
-Quick changing business environment
-Fast-moving changes in technology, systems architecture, hardware software and applications
-Multi-cultural environment in Asia Pacific
Requirements
Education or Equivalent Experience
-Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related discipline with at least 3 years of related work experience.
-Hands-on experience in project management, application development, deployment and support.
Specialized Knowledge and/or Qualifications
-Project management, planning, business presentations, systems analysis and design
-AS/400 and PC operations skills, Programming skills on VB.NET, Excel/VBA, Query Tools
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to Work successfully in both a team environment and independently.
