This is a leading commodities' multinational, with ambitious growth plans in Asia Pacific. Due to internal mobility, an opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Assistant Finance Manager to join one of its biggest entities in Shipping. This entity operates the tanker and dry bulk vessels for the Group and third-parties.
The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for statutory, management reporting, financial analysis, and tax reporting matters for the Company. Managing a team of junior staff members, you will play a lead role in the day-to-day running of the Finance Team, including review and taking a lead role in ad-hoc finance process improvement projects. You will also be the key point of contact for all finance matters relating to the shipping entity, working closely with internal and external auditors, tax advisors and local authorities.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a degree in Accountancy, with 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting within shipping. As this is a team managerial role, it is essential that you have a track record of managing teams in the most recent years. Experience in shipping accounting terms including time charter, spot voyages, demurrage claims will be critical for the success of this role. It is a critical requirement that you will also be bilingual in English and Mandarin as the role requires you to communicate with your overseas counterparts based in countries including China.
