This is an established US industrial manufacturer and solutions provider with a diverse range of clientele across refining, chemicals, petrochemicals and more. Due to an increased focus on Asia Pacific, they are on the search for a high calibre APAC Business Compliance Lead based in Singapore. This is an individual contributor role.
Reporting to the Global Compliance Lead, the APAC Business Compliance Lead will be responsible for risk assessment and business process mapping, connecting the business to compliance risk and controls. He/ She will drive the compliance culture throughout the organisation by developing deep business partnerships. The Lead will also be facilitating all compliance planning, strategy, and execution that will ultimately link to the Group’s corporate vision. Other responsibilities including “Know your Customer” processes and special projects such as fraud / forensic investigations. Regional travel of up to 30% is anticipated for this position.
The successful candidate should have a relevant degree with 10-15 years of experience in general compliance and risk, with at least the last 2 years in a senior regional capacity. You will also have a proven track record in leading or participating in internal self-assessments or audits (commercial, operational, safety, financial). Past experience with international trade regulations including US Customs harmonized Tariff Schedule, Government Agency Import/ Export regulations (For eg. OFAC, ITAR, sanctions) will be essential. You will also have experience in anti-corruption, anti-bribery, anti-trust regulations. Aside from being communicative, detailed and a strong team player, the candidate must have a track record in project management, negotiation and relationship management. Fluency in Mandarin will be preferred due to significant interactions with China-based stakeholders.
