JOB TITLE Specialist, Route Generation
Department / Business Unit INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, REMODEL
Location SINGAPORE
1. Brief Description
Successfully deliver the REMODEL Routes and Costs project such that:
Enables users to visualize and manage the supply of routes and costs available from all origin service points to destinations.
Is delivered on-time and within budget
Meets user specifications and
Works easily, quickly, and consistently
The technical analyst should deliver a system in good order that successfully passes User Acceptance Testing.
2. Key Result Areas
In concert with a team deliver a Route Generation Information technology information system. This includes vessel schedules, train schedules, route control, cost control, route system, cost system, and interfaces with booking, pricing, finance, e-commerce, operations, and numerous other systems.
3. Key Accountabilities/Duties
Work with users to understand business requirements
Develop functional specifications
Design the technical architecture for the project (Build)
Design the technical solution to implement the business requirements and functional design (Build).
Review Supplier offerings to ensure that they are technically consistent with firms architecture (Buy).
Develop code (build)
Develop and execute quality assurance tests (Buy & Build)
Develop and execute proof of concepts, prototypes, and iterative development efforts.
Develop and coordinate testing including user acceptance testing
Provide user training as needed
4. Incumbent specification
Education/Experience, skill sets, desired competencies;

Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science. Masters degree preferred.
Experiences
7-10 years within the transportation industry, Information Technology, or systems engineering.
At least 5 years as a developer strong technical experience.
Skill Sets
Ability to understand Operation Research and complex Mathematical Concepts.
Strong working knowledge of forecasting and optimization concepts.
Strong business knowledge, preferably with job exposure in operations and network in shipping industry eg. cargo management, routing management and equipment management
