Kerry Consulting conducted a survey with over 300 General Counsels and Heads of Legal from 1st to 30th June 2020 to hear their thoughts on how they have successfully led their teams and continued to excel during the Circuit Breaker period/ Covid-19.
Here are some of the Survey Highlights:
Engaging team and ensuring productivity, together with lack of physical face time with business stakeholders appeared to be the biggest challenges faced by legal professionals during Covid-19. The pandemic has changed the way employees perform their daily work duties, with nearly 90% claiming that work has become more digitised and that 80% of the workload can be done effectively from home. Some of the recommendations shared by the Legal professionals in order to ensure productivity include: constant 1 on 1 chats, weekly KPI reports, creating virtual team bonding session to instil positivity and more. In terms of workforce planning, 48% of them are still hiring with a cautious approach. Roles that are still in demand during Covid-19 include Corporate Banking Lawyers, Transaction Lawyers with M&A experience, Litigation/Restructuring Lawyers and Commodity Trading Lawyer.
