Description

This is a leading energy trading conglomerate, with Singapore as its Asia Pacific Headquarters. An opportunity has arisen for an Asia Pacific Regional Tax Manager to oversee tax advisory and compliance services to the Company’s business units in the Asia region, including Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the global head of Tax at Head Office, the Regional Tax Manager will play a key role in tax advisory strategies and partner the commercial business units at a corporate and regional level in Asia. He/ She will also proactively manage the relationships with local authorities and agencies, including local tax incentives. The Tax Manager will manage the relationship with external consulting firms and stakeholders (such as tax offices) within the Asia region.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a degree holder in an accounting or business discipline, with 8-12 years’ tax experience working as a tax professional within industry or commerce. Professional tax qualification is highly preferred.  You will also have a broad base advisory exposure in the areas including transfer pricing, indirect tax, permanent establishment. You will also possess the ability to identify local, cross border tax planning opportunities and applying for tax incentives.  You will also have proven abilities to negotiate tax issues with the tax authorities as well as to engage with a diverse range of senior stakeholders. You will also be able to communicate complex tax issues in a laymen manner to non-tax professionals within the Company.
