Our client is a global food & beverage ingredients company and is hiring for an Application Scientist (Snacks) to join their R&D team in Singapore.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will be responsible for formulating and developing food products in the snacks category that meet the required consumer and industry standards, conducting pilot plant trials and scaling them up for commercialisation. You will get the chance to create innovative product concepts using the company’s ingredients and bring them to market. This role also involves researching and analysing scientific publications and translating the knowledge to continuously improve product formulation, stability and the processing methods.  As the subject matter expert, you will be working closely with the Sales team to provide on-site and off-site technical support to clients in Asia.

Requirements

You would need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in the food industry. Prior experience in extruded snacks, puff snacks, cream, chocolate and confectionary is advantageous. To be successful in this role, you are hands-on, self-motivated, able to multitask, enjoy the ideation and creative process of product application, and possess good communication skills. You should also be willing to travel, up to 20% of your time.
