    Description

    Our client is a food & beverage ingredients supplier and solutions provider with a global footprint. To be at the forefront of serving their clients ranging from Consumer Packaged Goods to food service companies, product development and innovation is key. Hence, we are looking to hire a Bakery Manager / Senior Food Scientist for their newly set up Application Centre in Singapore.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Head of Application Centre, you will provide technical/application support related to functional ingredients and solutions to bakery customers in the confectionary and industrial bakery segments within the Asia Pacific region. You will participate in internal concept and product development projects as well as work closely with the Sales team in customer-facing activities such as customer visits or virtual calls, pilot plant and production trials. The Bakery Manager / Senior Food Scientist is also involved in designing, planning, executing and interpreting experiments of bakery products to optimise product performance to ensure successful scale up from lab to plant trial.

    Requirements

    You would need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering or a related field, with min 8 years of experience in the food industry. Experience in ingredients, manufacturing processes and use of equipment is required. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, work effectively across multiple business units and teams, as well as be a strong individual contributor. Prior experience in a customer-facing product development role is highly regarded. Someone with strong leadership track record may be considered for the Bakery Manager role. You should also be willing to travel, around 25% of your time.
