This is a fast growing and ambitious multi-commodities trading company that is well respected within the industry. Due to growth and rising demands from the base metals business, there is now an exciting opportunity for a base metals strategist to be part of one of the highest performing teams in the Group.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Base Metals Trading, the Base Metals Strategist will be the go-to person in Asia Pacific to track, analyse and present business insights on  changes in supply, demand, and pricing fundamentals. The team will also play a key role in supporting trading strategies, along with other commercial and longer term investment decisions. This is also a crucial role based in Singapore that will contribute towards the Company’s global forecast and price views over the Base metals market.

Role

The successful candidate will possess an excellent degree in a numerate or statistical discipline. You should have at 7 years’ proven track record in fundamental research and modelling for the base metals markets. You will also have strong econometric modelling and programming skills, along with the ability to evaluate large amounts of information and identify the implications. You will also be described as possessing strong communications skills and be an effective cross-functional team player.
