    Description

    Our client is a leading marketer and distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, and am currently hiring for a Singapore-based Business Unit Director with an APAC focus for their Advanced Materials business group.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to Head of APAC as well as the Global Business Leader of Advanced Materials, this position will be responsible for the strategic & commercial leadership of all aspects of the Business in APAC, which have been expanding rapidly and have very ambitious plans for the future. You will further develop and drive the growth strategy and objectives for the organisation to include both organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions, while being part of the Advanced Materials Global Business Group strategic team.

    Requirements 

    You will have an Engineering Degree (polymer, material science, chemicals, mechanical etc) with at least 15 years’ of relevant experience in the Advanced Materials industry preferable on thermoplastics and/or additives (converter and compounders segments preferred) across APAC region. You should come with a strong track record on the management and influence of teams and developing businesses. With customers across wide range of market segments and product lines, it is critical for the right candidate to be strategic, energetic and creative, with existing exposure in different segments and industries, to be able to identify gaps in the countries with the existing resources, and what else is missing in the portfolio. Having a good EQ, with strong inter-personal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships and influence results across teams will be critical. You should be willing to travel 50-70% of the time, to meet with Principals, M&A targets and key customers.
