    Description

    Our client is leading and fast growing specialty chemicals distributor, and am currently hiring for a Singapore-based leader role to manage their Food & Nutrition business unit across Asia Pacific region.

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will be an innovative, entrepreneurial sales professional that can take over existing business and further build and develop new business within the Food & Nutrition market segment. You will lead the Business Segment and ensure sustainable value growth, and further establish market leadership and reputation. Food & Nutrition is a key growth segment for the company, with this role being the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to evolve in a leadership role as the business and team of the APAC organization will grow rapidly. The key accountabilities of this position will be around Long Term Profitability Growth (develop a value growth strategy which addresses building the lateral value chain), Principal Development and Management (hunting for mandates extension, new and existing principals), Market Intelligence sharing and creating Centres of Excellence to allow the local sales teams to succeed.

    Requirements 

    You should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science/Technology/Nutrition, with at least 10 years of regional commercial experience across Asia Pacific. Prior experience working for or with a distributor will be helpful but not mandatory. A self-motivated personality to start up new initiatives to generate more sales, and the creativity to develop new means to generate interest and fill the sales pipeline will be important. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to work well with the local teams of various cultures in APAC. A key difference working for a distributor to a manufacturer will be that you will be representing multiple principals and product portfolios, hence the need to be highly organized and able to meet principal expectations will be critical. Finally, you should be innovative and confident in interacting at all levels within the business, with the ability to think commercially and deliver results.
