A Privately–owned Investment Firm headquartered in New York is setting up a Singapore investment and Commodities business. With an impressive investment portfolio largely in Energy along with a strong pipeline of deals in the Americas, its growth ambitions now extend to Asia. As a start, it is looking to hire a top tier Chief Investment Officer (‘CIO’) to lead this exciting venture.
Working closely with the Group CEO, the CIO will develop an investment and asset allocation strategy focusing on Oil & Gas, Clean Energy and Infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to LNG, chemicals such as methanol, sulphur. The CIO will drive the construction and monitoring of the investment portfolio, ensuring they are in line with the company’s needs, financial returns objectives and risk tolerance. He/ She will evaluate investments associated with commodity financing structures across product lines i.e. oil, natural gas and LNG, power generation and renewable resources. As a member of the Investment Committee, the CIO is key to the decision-making at the portfolio level. As the pioneer member of the Singapore leadership team, you will have the mandate to build a high quality team to successfully execute the firm’s business plans.
The successful candidate will be degree qualified from a top tier university, with a EMBA/ MBA from a leading institution. You will have at least 15 years’ of experience in either M&A, investment banking, capital markets, private investing and/ or commodity trading and are extremely familiar with and well-networked in the energy sector. You will be described as one with an exceptional level of financial literacy, along with expert understanding of equity/debt/financing structures, and having a strong appreciation of risk management. Your robust network and strong relationships with private equity firms, investment banks and institutional investors in Asia will enable you to originate transactions and lead these deals to completion.
