Description

This is an international infrastructure investments and project development platform, largely focused in developing nations and frontier markets. One of its wholly owned subsidiary, whose primary mission is to mobilise private monies for these infrastructure project and investments endeavours is now on a search for a Chief Risk Officer (‘CRO’). This is a role based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer and the CEO, the CRO will play an active role in risk management areas including but not limited to credit risk, compliance and operational risk. The CRO will develop, review and continuously enhance risk management policies with strategy and business activities, while ensuring all facets of risks are managed according to overall Group strategy. While there are existing risk management and mitigation methods and tools available, he/ she will continue to improvise, re-establish those methods and tools in anticipation of rapid volatility and uncertainty, and set up the business for success. The CRO will also build and lead a team of high caliber risk and compliance professionals located both in Singapore and across the world.

Requirements

The successful candidate is degree qualified in a business/ finance discipline with 15-20 years’ experience in risk leadership capacities, particularly in credit, compliance and operational risk. Those with the track record overseeing risk in developing or frontier markets with a project development focus will have a distinct advantage. You will also be someone with the ability to provide thought leadership to business regarding risk matters, and have the confidence and gravitas to present to senior executives and risk committee. You will also be described as self-sufficient, a problem-solver and operationally hands on.
