Description
Part of a larger energy conglomerate with an impressive asset portfolio including transition energy, this energy trading entity has a significant footprint in Asia Pacific. Due to the heightened focus on ESG and need for compliance with a fast-changing regulatory landscape, there is now a newly created opportunity for an ESG Asia Lead to drive the compliance with ESG Group and external policies within APAC.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the global head of ESG and as well as to the APAC MD, the ESG Asia Lead will develop and oversee the policies and processes surrounding ESG and the related frameworks. Post development, the ESG Asia Lead is also the key representative and subject matter expert on changes and updates on ESG standards and guidance. He/ She will partner the business on risk assessment of the entity’s activities in relation to the standards, along with execution the mitigation measures to ensure adherence.

Requirements
The successful candidate must be degree qualified in a finance or business discipline, with 10-15 years’ work experience including the recent 3-5 years spent in a ESG governance capacity within commodities or banking. You are described as highly passionate about ESG and experienced advising senior top management on ESG and related governance topics. You are also described as highly hands-on, with the ability to bridge institutional intricacies along with providing fit-for-purpose ESG solutions.
