Our client is a leading food ingredient company and have newly created a Singapore-based Global Head of Logistics role to support 1 of their strategic business platforms. This position will report to the Global Strategic Business Unit Head of Manufacturing, while working closely with the plant, shipping, and sales teams.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the entire logistics and customer service functions for the business platform with direct responsibility over all logistics covering inbound/outbound for the manufacturing operations in Malaysia and New Zealand, and supervisory responsibility over global logistics covering the platform’s trading operations
• Set the framework to monitor key performance parameters and build high-efficiency logistics functions
• Manage freight negotiations and key point of contact for all liners
• Optimizing the entire logistics costs covering fobbing, freights, domestic logistics, and NCP
• Set an efficient claims redressal framework and work with the quality/production/sales team to drive timely responses to customer quality complaints/claims
• Key escalation points of contact for customer service and provide support across different departments – Sales, Shipping, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality
• Drive digitalization to monitor and update customers on order status covering shipment status
• Analyze any service gaps and drive future improvements across the operations

Requirements:

• Experienced logistics professional with experience in shipping, logistics, customer service, and non-commodity procurement.
• Positive outlook and friendly personality
• Exceptional communication and analytical skills
• Comfortable working in a cross-functional dynamic team environment
• The ideal candidate should have logistics experience in large manufacturing operations (minimum 15 yrs), comfortable with complexity rather than a very structured working culture
