    Description

    Our client is a Food Ingredients Producer who has embarked on an ambitious journey to create on trend innovation building new ingredients tailored to the food and beverage industry. As part of their growth strategy, they have newly created this Singapore-based position to be responsible for Quality and Food Safety (QFS) globally.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Chief Innovation and Quality Officer, this role sits on the Operations Leadership team with an intention to focus on both aspects of quality function-Design Quality & Delivered Quality. Business Unit (BU) Quality and regional Quality heads will report into the role, with the incumbent also directly overseeing a geography or BU quality team as well. The QFS function is currently undergoing a complete strategy refresh with a focus on building consistent and comprehensive network wide QFS Management systems, effective risk assessment and management programs, robust metrics and effective internal audit, external certification program. This transformation is with the objective of being a key enabler in the business vision of being a global leader in the food ingredients industry. With a network of more than 100 manufacturing plants globally, ensuring quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across operations worldwide is a business-critical requirement. At the same time as new products and manufacturing processes are designed, it is vital that quality and food safety are built into these before scale up.

    Requirements 

    You should have a Master’s of Science Microbiology, Food Science, or related field where a PhD is a plus. You should have at least 20 years’ experience in Food Quality & Safety in food manufacturing, with proven People Management & experience leading and growing a team. The ability to productively work across cultures and time zones and manage technical teams effectively will be important. Additionally, strong knowledge of multi geography regulations, US FDA/EU/Asia, HACCP, auditing, SPC, crisis management & product recalls, Food Safety and Quality Systems program, process validation etc will be important to possess.
