Our client is a Regional headquartered Fortune 500 Conglomerate with a rapid growing business here in Singapore. This is a role within their Energy and Resources business and they are looking for a young and highly dynamic individual to be part of their Singapore office helping to shape the legal and governance function. This will be an individual contributor role within the wider legal team providing support to the business.
As a brand new headcount in the Singapore office, you will be responsible for reviewing and drafting legal contracts and ensuring that it is align with legal policy at the head office level. You will help to review trading related agreements and work closely with the traders to ensure that their queries are resolved in a timely manner. You will provide legal advice to the management team in relation to any investments that they will like to make in the region. On an adhoc basis, you will support any litigations/disputes and partner closely with external law firms to ensure it is resolve in a timely manner.
Apart from legal matters, you will also take on the responsibility to handle compliance related matters for the organization and ensure that it is align with global sanctions regulations.
In order to succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years PQE with experience working in a MNC or from private practice covering general corporate commercial/shipping. You should be fluent in mandarin both spoken and reading as this role requires frequent interaction with North Asia stakeholders. Prior knowledge on energy and commodities/shipping will have an advantage in this role.
