Our client is a Singapore based financial technology company who is a leader within the digital asset trading industry. Headquartered here in Singapore, they have a global clientele base and have established strong partnership with some of the world’s leading cryptocurrencies firm. They are continuously on an expansion and growth mode. As part of their strategic growth, they are looking for a legal counsel to join their team to provide legal advice to the CEO and working closely with the business as they continue to scale.
As the first legal hire within the organization, you will support the business in all general corporate and commercial matters. This could include technology related contracts such as SaaS agreements with vendors and intellectual property matters on the firm’s proprietary technology. As the business continues to expand in the region, you will support the business through your legal research to help navigate any regulations in the new territories. You will support and assist the launch of any new business products and ensure that trading agreements are established and set up in place. As the company works towards getting themselves regulated with the regulators in the region, you will also keep yourself abreast of the regulatory developments and take an active role advising the business on their obligations as well as managing conversations with the regulators.
You should be a qualified lawyer in Singapore with at least 3 years of experience working within the financial services industry. Good understanding of financial products such as derivatives would be very helpful for this role. You should be someone who is able to work independently and at the same time a team player.
