    Description

    Our client is a leading Human Nutrition and Health business, and am currently hiring for a Singapore-based head of application role to lead their savoury application team to support SEA markets.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Technical Head of SEA, the areas of expertise for this position will include formulation, trouble-shooting, prototype development and manufacturing scale-up of common ingredients (product portfolio across Flavours, Specialty Food Ingredients and Health & Wellness) used to formulate meat, poultry, seafood and vegetarian entrees, soups, sauces and dressings. The position works directly with sales, marketing, culinary and creation teams on projects and presentations supporting the growth of savory and the overall business strategy. You will be leading a dedicated Savory team, while being hands-on and be the technical expert for all Savory projects, working with customers on trouble-shooting and providing technical solutions. Aside from contributing to product development and prototype development in the Savory area, the role will also be managing the lab/pilot plant equipment needs to improve delivery of top quality end products to customers.

    Requirements 

    You should have a B.A. or B.S. degree in the food sciences with at least 10 years or more of savory experience across Meat and/ or Vegetarian product formulation in Asia markets. The individual must have the following characteristics: willingness and ability to learn new skills, ability to adjust to changing priorities, sense of urgency, people management skills, communicate effectively, teamwork attitude, attention to detail, problem solving, dependable, curious, creative, have integrity, and be committed to workplace safety. The position will require some travel to customers or contract manufacturers, hence some experience with regulatory and labeling will be desirable. You will need to have people management, presentation skills and ability to rapidly develop a relationship with internal and external customers.
