    Description

    Our client is one of the fastest growing Food Ingredients company embarking on an exciting journey with Innovation as a key pillar to their evolution and development. They have newly created a Singapore-based Senior Food Scientist role for the Snack Food category and am seeking for talents who are keen to be part of this pioneering team for their Asia business.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the VP of the Innovation Center, the role will be responsible for product development and innovation activities from bench top to scale-up of formulations in the Snack Food category. The Senior Food Scientist will work closely with the Ingredient and Culinary teams to provide solutions for customer projects, either on-site or at their facilities within Asia Pacific though primarily in South East Asia (SEA). The snack product focuses will be on extruded snacks, nut variants, snack bars (nutritional, protein bars, clusters), baked snacks and others. Aside from product development, managing the scale-up of bench top formulations to pilot plant and plant trials will also be an important aspect of the role.

    Requirements 

    You will ideally have a degree in Food Science/Technology/Engineering or other related studies, with 5 to 10 years of experience in the development and launch of snack products such as edible nuts, bars, baked goods, cereal based beyond simple prototype development. You must understand the impact of plant processing and be able to design formulations accordingly. Expertise in product scale-up and commercialization from bench top formulations, as well as the understanding of general sensory testing, including its application to product development will be required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be able to work effectively in a team environment across multiple business units and teams, as well as be a strong individual contributor.
