Senior Risk Analyst / Risk Analyst– Shipping Company

• Ideally 2-5 years of physical commodities experience
• Established vessel owners, headquartered in Singapore

This is a leading and established bulk shipping arm of a diversified MNC with a global presence across multiple business lines. Due to ongoing business expansion, there is now a great opportunity for a Senior Risk Analyst / Risk Analyst to join their risk team, supporting the global risk team. The role will be based in its global headquarters in Singapore.

Role

Reporting to the Head of Risk, the Senior Risk Analyst / Risk Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of daily P&L, exposure reconciliation for the open freight and bunkers. The Analyst will also ensure that the curves are reasonably marked and monitor VAR utilisation, stress testing and assessing counterparty credit risk. Equipped with insights and actionable content, the Analyst will be an effective business partner, working cross- functionally with the commercial teams. The Analyst will play an integral role in establishing the market risk capabilities and safety, governance and operating framework.

Requirements 

The successful candidate will be a degree holder in a Finance / Business discipline, with 2-5 years’ work experience in a similar capacity within commodities trading / shipping environments. Candidates with prior dry bulk / chemicals experience will be viewed upon favourably. You will be driven, independent, have an eye for details and is a strong team player. To excel in the role, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
