    Description

    Our client is in the Human Nutrition business and have been experiencing exponential growth for the past few years. Due to that, the hiring company have newly created a Technical Director role to lead the existing Product Development & Application teams for SEA markets, and to ensure incoming re-active and pro-active customer projects and tasks in the lab are prioritised and executed on-time. The position will be located at their SEA Headquarters in Singapore.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the APAC Technical Director, you will lead and project manage the assigning, prioritisation and execution of projects & tasks through collaboration with Creation, Sales and Portfolio to ensure customer deadlines are met with high quality submissions. Your teams will be involved with prototype application development predominantly but not exclusively in Beverage, Bakery and Meat Alternatives, as well as providing application support of new demo-kit roll-outs (proactive), and extensively supporting customer accounts for customer specific issues (reactive). The team will also present on prototype developments to customers as needed, and as such work closely with marketing, product managers and the sales team to provide input/support on target customers. Other initiatives include supporting customer developments by providing application formulations; and support the subsequent commercialisation of these products through involvement in plant trials if required. You and your team will be providing technical support to the Sales teams, distributors and its customers in SEA.

    Requirements 

    You will have a university degree qualification in Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry or technology related discipline with at least 10+ years experience in food ingredients, and/or the Flavour Industry. Technical team management experience and leading priority setting within an environment where there is a constant weekly in-flow of new customer briefs will be critical. You should have a strong understanding of how to develop a wide range of applications across categories. The desire to win and go above and beyond expectations, coupled with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with an open minded approach will be key traits that the hiring company is looking for.
